Need a New Heart? Check. Need a New Brain? Silence **crickets chirping**

Science is amazing. We can replace knees and hips, screw bones together so that they heal properly and even transplant lungs and hearts. But when it comes to the brain, it’s clearly not that easy.

Our brains help define us. They contain our memories, our thoughts, our preferences, our feelings, and so much more. As someone who has worked with hundreds, if not thousands, of people who have slowly lost these things due to dementia, I want to speak up.
